Anti-Jockey Debut

For clarifications sake, I have no disdain for Jockey’s whatsoever, in fact they are likely another underserved segment that deserves attention – just at the other end of the spectrum.  The reason I am calling the Sports section ‘Anti-Jockey’ is it is one of my smart aleck responses to the daily question ‘Do you play basketball?’ To which, depending on the day, I often respond, ‘No, I am actually a jockey, my feet hit the ground and give the horse another stride.’

While the average jockey is somewhere in the range of 147cm to 168 cm (4’ 10” – 5’ 6”) – it turns out the tallest active jockey was an Aussie named Stuart Brown, who measured in at 187cm (6’ 3”) – which despite being a disadvantage within this sport, he raced in over 200 races within a 20 year span.

Within this section I will touch on Sport stories that  peak my interest and are relevant to this audience.

And for the record, yes I play basketball and while height can help in some regards, just like any sport, it’s the blending of natural ability and hard work that make anyone good at one particular thing.
